There is a great deal of speculation that The Demon Finn Balor will return at this year's WrestleMania and that Edge has something unique planned to counter the Demon. His recent promo hinted that he's coming up with a version of his character that is scarier and more hellish than anything Balor can throw at him and a recent report reveals there might be plans to include a former WWE star in Edge's entrance, maybe even his match.
According to PWInsider Elite, former WWE superstar Gangrel is being flown into Los Angeles for this year's event. The plan seems to be to have him take part in Edge's entrance ahead of his Hell in a Cell match. Further reports note that there is talk of Gangrel getting physical in the match, potentially working on a spot with The Judgment Day's Damian Priest.
Fans will remember Gangrel as the vampire leader of The Brood -- a faction that consisted of Edge, Gangrel, and Christian Cage. Their goth faction was extremely over with the fans and while Edge and Christian eventually moved on to become bigger stars, Gangrel is still very active in the wrestling industry. Word is that he's wanted to appear for WWE before and that they'd shown interest, but the timing never quite worked.
Christian Likely Won't Be With Them
There has been some talk about Christian's current AEW contract status, but the belief is that he is not done with AEW and won't be part of WrestleMania. Christian was believed to have signed a "long-term deal" in early 2021, thus it's not likely he would be free to show up and be part of the match, nor would AEW allow that. Still, Edge and Gangrel together is a pretty cool idea that will certainly generate a response from the fans, especially those that saw these two work together in the 90s.
