Cash Wheeler, one half of the AEW Tag Team Champions FTR, has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a firearm. AEW has issued a statement confirming the situation to be true and that it's aware of what has happened, adding that it will continue to monitor the situation closely.
Cash Wheeler Arrested
First reported by the Orlando Sentinel (H/T to Fightful), Wheeler was charged and booked in Circuit Court according to county records. The Tag Team Champion is set to defend his title alongside Dax Harwood at All In next weekend, the biggest show in AEW's short history taking place at London's Wembley Stadium. The show has now sold more than 80,000 tickets as it nears a sellout with nine days to go until the event.

Wheeler and Harwood signed new deals with AEW earlier this year after an extended period of uncertainty regarding the tag team's future. There were even rumors FTR might return to WWE after it was confirmed their previous deals with AEW were due to expire around WrestleMania season. If there ever was a point when the team was considering a WWE return, especially with Triple H bringing back previously released wrestlers, Vince McMahon's return in January may well have put them off.
Re-Signing With AEW
Despite suggestions FTR wasn't happy with their lot in AEW, Wheeler and Harwood have been featured a lot since committing to new contracts. Especially since the introduction of Saturday night show, Collision. FTR has wrestled on Collision a lot, leaning into the belief that the new show is centered around CM Punk and wrestlers who get along with him. Harwood and Wheeler are both close with Punk on-screen and off-screen, even teaming with the former AEW Champion in a trios team they've dubbed CMFTR.
Hopefully the future of the tag team won't be muddied once again by whatever the situation is with Wheeler and his arrest. The details surrounding it are obviously a little thin on the ground at the moment, so there's no telling what exactly the situation was that led to his arrest. If it is a serious situation, the Tag Title match on the All In card may now be in jeopardy. Arguably one of the better announced matches on a show that some fans have accused of being lackluster considering the size of the event.
