- There was some expectation that AEW would once again put a real-life couple together on-screen when it comes to Jack Perry and Anna Jay, much like they did with Sammy Guevara and Tay Melo back in 2021. However, despite Jack Perry’s recent heel turn, this expected tandem hasn't come together quite yet. However, that doesn’t mean their partnership hasn’t been mentioned and referenced. The pair are one of a fair few couples in AEW whose relationship has been acknowledged, though others like Britt Baker & Adam Cole, Jon Moxley & Renee Pacquette, and Penelope Ford & Kip Sabian have been more heavy-handed.

Jungle Boy And Anna Jay Met Through An AEW BBQ
While Anna Jay and Jack Perry would share the news of their relationship during the Summer of 2021, fans would not really get to hear anything from Jack Perry until the latter portion of the year in regard to the relationship. During an interview with Renee Paquette, Perry would share the story of how he first met Anna Jay and who was to thank for helping get them together.
When Perry would make his jump back into AEW after sitting out a bit during the onset of the COVID-19 Pandemic, he noted that at an AEW-hosted BBQ, there was a game of Beer Pong in which he and Joey Janela would team against Anna Jay and Alan Angels. Perry set the record straight on how they got together. "We were playing beer pong, but I could see some googly eyes over there a little bit. I was like 'okay, that’s interesting.’ And I remember later that night, Sonny Kiss actually coming up to me, kind of grinning, saying ‘I need to tell you something.’ I’m like, ‘I already know'".
It Was Jungle Boy's Idea To Go Public With His Relationship With Anna Jay
Many AEW fans were taken aback when the news broke that Perry and Anna Jay were officially dating. Following his marquee clash against then AEW Champion, Kenny Omega, he would take to Twitter to share the news with the world. Dropping a picture of him kissing his girlfriend, it was now out that Perry and Anna Jay were an official couple following Perry's star-making performance against the Best Bout Machine.

Speaking with FITE's Women's Wrestling Talk Podcast, Anna Jay would spill the beans that it was Perry decision to take their relationship to the public stage. Anna would go onto say, "He had a match with Kenny Omega and he was thinking about posting a picture. We had it for a little bit, like a few weeks, and he was like, ‘I think I might post it after the match’ just because he didn’t want anything to take away from that because it was a huge moment for him."
Jungle Boy And Anna Jay Are Two Of AEW's Brightest Young Stars
While these two have their relationship to continue to build, they are also two of the fastest-rising stars in All Elite Wrestling. Perry, now a former AEW World Tag Team Champion, had a marquee feud against Christian Cage and his former partner, Luchasaurus, and then pursuits at both the AEW and NJPW world titles. As for Anna Jay, while she did get over massively as a babyface following the face turn for Dark Order, she has since left the group and gone to the dark side.

Aligning with her BFF Tay Melo, Anna Jay would shock the AEW fanbase by joining Chris Jericho's faction, The Jericho Appreciation Society, during the Barbed Wire Everywhere Match between Eddie Kingston and Chris Jericho.
Anna Jay & Jack Perry's Relationship Has Been Acknowledged On AEW Programming
The first real mention of Jack Perry and Anna Jay’s relationship came in the Four Pillars AEW World Championship storyline involving Perry, MJF, Darby Allin, and Sammy Guevara. MJF, who often cuts close to the cloth, made a vague reference to the relationship. It must be said though that this did feel unnecessary, especially given that Perry was a clean-cut babyface at the time, with Anna Jay playing a heel in the Jericho Appreciation Society. Not everything in a wrestler’s real life needs to be used to make a storyline more personal, and this was an example of where this was a mistake.

The next reference came following Perry’s heel turn this year. After attacking Hook at the Forbidden Door PPV, Perry emerged with a new look and a new attitude, and in his first heel promo he stated that he was “banging the hottest b*tch” in this place, in reference to Anna Jay. With wrestling fans very much in the know, it was known who Perry was talking about, though interestingly there was no mention of her name. With the Jericho Appreciation Society falling apart and with Perry needing something extra to get his new heel character on track, perhaps an on-screen alliance between the two is something that will happen in the near future.
