Devin Haney momentarily diverted his attention from his ongoing rivalry with Ryan Garcia to publicly criticize Floyd Mayweather. The undefeated boxer has numerous grievances against Mayweather, and he elaborated further on them in a recent statement. Devin Haney, the reigning WBC Super Lightweight Champion known as "The Dream," is scheduled to defend his title against the globally recognized pay-per-view sensation "King" Ryan Garcia in Brooklyn on Saturday, April 20th. However, this highly anticipated match almost fell through when Garcia disclosed that Mayweather persuaded him to fight Rolando Romero instead.

During one of their press conferences, Garcia openly confessed to being swayed by Mayweather, prompting Haney to express his frustration publicly towards his former mentor. Haney, who once looked up to Mayweather and received guidance from him during his formative years in boxing, has now taken a different stance.

Devin Haney Blasts ‘Bonafide Hater’ Floyd Mayweather

‘The Dream’ Has Finally Had Enough Of ‘Money’ Mayweather’s Antics

In a tweet, Haney shed some light on his damaged relationship with Mayweather.

“Floyd been hating a long time.. this ain’t just start. I held my tongue for years because I respect the greats of the sport. But dude is a bonifide hater don’t wanna see nobody win if he not apart of it! I know he sent Ryan the sparring… I know he gave Ryan those “pimp” comments to say. Miserable old man tried to stop the fight.. Alhamdulillah I’m happy he revealed himself to the world.”

During a chaotic press conference, Ryan Garcia exposed footage of Haney sparring Gervonta 'Tank' Davis when he was 16 years old and Tank was 20. Additionally, during a tumultuous press conference, Garcia's father Henri claimed that Bill Haney was a pimp.

“Come on, Bill. Weren’t you a pimp? When Devin Haney came to visit Ryan, he brought all these girls around him. He’s just a pimp. Once a pimp always a pimp.”

Jeff Mayweather Shares His Opinion On Tank vs. Haney Sparring Session

In his recent interview with FightHype, Floyd Mayweather's uncle disclosed whether he had witnessed the Haney vs. Davis bout live. In the footage shared by Garcia, Davis appeared to have Haney on the defensive. Davis managed to push 'The Dream' against the ropes and successfully landed combinations, a left uppercut, and body shots.

Throughout the sparring clip, Davis seemed to dictate the fight's pace while Floyd Mayweather and Adrien Broner observed. However, following Garcia's release of the clip, Haney contested that the video had been "chopped up and edited." Nevertheless, Jeff Mayweather believed the match was "kind of give-and-take." Jeff also said, "I wasn’t there when it happened." Meanwhile, Bill Haney, Devin Haney's father, asserted that Garcia's leaked footage only showcased the "highlight parts" and urged Garcia to release the rest of the footage.
