When it comes to the biggest wrestling stars in the history of the business few stand out as much as John Cena, who was the face of WWE for many years. He put together many top main event storylines, competing against some of the biggest names of all time from The Rock and Randy Orton to The Undertaker and Triple H.

Cena works well inside the ring, and while he might not be the most technical of workers, his matches are always enjoyable to watch. However, even though there are few people with more experience than Cena, over the years he has been involved in several botches, which proves even the best need to work on things.
10 Wrong Sign
Not every botch is a serious one, as many can end up bringing a lot of humor to fans when they take place, and that was the case when John Cena decided to bring a fan's sign into the ring. He wanted to pose with it to finish the show and get everyone hyped up, as the audience member had done it all about him.
However, when Cena slid back into the ring to do the pose he ended up holding it the wrong way. It left viewers very confused, as instead of showing the Cena side it just read "Tag Me In," which made zero sense.
9 Big Boot Doesn't Come Close
The Undertaker facing John Cena at WrestleMania 34 was a match that had a lot of people excited, yet it ended up being a routine squash match to get the Deadman over again. There wasn't much to the encounter itself, with 'Taker going through his usual list of classic moves, but that included his big boot.

It's a normal move to take, and one that most people would expect to go well, but in this match, it didn't. Undertaker went to hit the Boot, but Cena took the bump far too early and ended up falling to the mat when it was nowhere near his face.
8 Trying To Copy CM Punk
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but that doesn't always translate into wrestling moves looking good, as John Cena found out. He attempted to copy CM Punk during a tag team match on Raw, looking to get one over on his rival at the time.
Cena went to hit Punk's classic knee to the face which was then followed by the running bulldog, however, Cena botched the moves. His knee to the face looked messy and the bulldog wasn't much better, with this being a moment he'd rather forget.
7 Dropping Daniel Bryan
John Cena's SummerSlam encounter against Daniel Bryan was a brilliant one that saw the two men work to the top of their abilities in a thrilling encounter. However, there was one botched spot which wasn't an ideal one considering Bryan's history of neck problems.
Cena blocked a hurricanrana from the top turnbuckle, dropping him back down to the mat to lock in the STF. However, when he dropped to the mat he slammed Bryan head-first, which was a rough-looking spot that even the live crowd reacted to.
6 Swinging A Chair
Weapons often bring a new element of danger to the wrestling business, and that was the case when John Cena attempted to save Ric Flair from the hands of Edge and Lita. He successfully fought off his rival to send them packing, but he then hurt himself in the process with a botch.
Cena grabbed a chair to add a little more drama to things, swinging it toward the ropes to showcase his aggression. However, as he swung the chair it ended up hitting the top rope, bouncing back to smash himself in the face.
5 Drop To The Face
Whenever there are multiple wrestlers involved in one spot there is a chance that things can go wrong, which was on display in the 2010 Royal Rumble. Cena picked up Triple H and span him around to kick Shawn Michaels in the face, dropping HBK to the mat on impact.
Cena then looked to dump Triple H to the mat as well, which was supposed to be a normal back bump. However, he hadn't checked the coast was clear, and he ended up dropping the Game onto Michaels' face.
4 Stunner Doesn't Connect
John Cena's United States Championship open challenge saw him step up and bring a lot of new moves to his arsenal to improve on his match quality. One of those was the Springboard Stunner, which was an exciting spot to be thrown into any wrestling match as it always got a reaction.
However, when he competed against Cesaro this spot went completely wrong and led to a botch. Cena leaped from the ropes to deliver the move but didn't properly connect, which led to an awkward moment as Cesaro still went along and sold it.
3 Canadian Destroyer Doesn't Go To Plan
Another move that John Cena added to his arsenal later in his career was his own take on the Canadian Destroyer, which he brought out during his Money in the Bank encounter against Kevin Owens. It was impressive to see as fans never expected that type of move from him, but it took a while to get going.
The first time he tried to hit it things didn't go to plan as the two men didn't have their timing right. It created a botch as they slipped and ended up having to bounce off the ropes to resettle before delivering the move.
2 Smashing His Way To Money In The Bank
John Cena winning the Money in the Bank ladder match was something that a lot of people didn't see coming, mainly because this was a moment that was typically given to upcoming stars to make their break in the main event scene. Cena's victory also ended up featuring a botch, which surprised people.

He was at the top of the ladder fighting against Big Show, and he used the briefcase to hit him in the head repeatedly. This was done to fight him down, but Cena's strength was too much as he ripped it from the top, winning the match faster than was intended.
1 Royal Rumble Confusion
Out of all the botches John Cena has been involved in, the finish to the 2005 Royal Rumble match takes the top spot. This is one of the biggest matches of the year, and the moment where someone wins is something that is booked carefully and over the years has not gone wrong.
2005 was different though, as Batista and Cena botched the finish. The two men both went flying over the top rope at the same time, landing at the same moment, which was such a precise botch they could never have done it again. It led to Vince McMahon heading to the ring and tearing both his quadriceps as well, adding to the madness.
